A rack of stripes at Rachel Comey
We have been faithful Rachel Comey fans for a while now. RC started exclusively as a menswear line and later expanded to women’s. (We carry a bit of both, head HERE for men’s and HERE for women’s.) Always a bit of rock n roll, Rachel Comey is like controlled chaos. Looking at the racks you will find that precise stripes mingle with wayward, fringed knits and a lady like black cocktail dress sits among mixed geometric and floral patters. Rachel Comey’s S/S 2012 collection featured a lot of cozy sweaters, nautical red, white, and blues, flashes of bright colors, and bold accessories. I found myself drawn to the striped bags and a black and white chevron hat. Another standout was the landscape print by French artist, Rosemarie Auberson which popped up numerous times. I can’t wait to get this into our shop and we here at stel’s will be sure to keep you updated about its arrival.

My third day in NYC I headed to VPL, a line created by former stylist Victoria Bartlett. Born in 2003, VPL (yes, as in Visible Panty Line) is heavily influenced by ladies’ underpinnings. But don’t put this baby in a corner just yet, VPL has many wearable pieces. Think sultry, sensual hints not overdone and over sexed. Coming for S/S ’12, I am really loving their black stretch leggings, cozy sweaters, and sexy as hell, color blocked dresses. Another major highlight? Their collaboration with LD Tuttle (read more about LD HERE or shop LD Tuttle HERE).

Bright colors and slashed cut outs.
For more about VPL go to their site HERE or check out our shots of their New York store HERE.
Here is a small look at the VPL store located at 5 Mercer Street in New York. The shop is absolutely stunning. Clean, crisp and decorated with antique gym equipment, it is the perfect mixture of old and new. We will be carrying VPL come Spring. Be on the lookout for more pictures from VPL’s showroom but until then enjoy these shots of their retail store.

While in NYC I stopped by Parlor Showroom to check out the line, Kaelen. Since its inception in 2010, Kaelen creator and Parsons School of Design grad, Kaelen Farncombe, has perfected the art of effortless cool. This collection is soft and airy and Spring/Summer ’12 has a delicious color palette of muted neutrals with pops of color. Kaelen is great at mixing boisterous patterns with restrained lines. The outcome is wearability without blending in. I’ll keep you updated about S/S’s arrival in our shop. For now, you can you get your Kaelen fix by heading HERE to shop her F/W collection in Stel’s.
Love this little white number.
This inkblot pattern kills it!
A corner of parlor showroom, this line isn’t Kaelen but I loved the set up.
