Last week I traveled to New York City for Market week. Luckily, I had help in the form of Adriana, our social media guru and my dear friend (and former intern) Will, as my few days in NYC were jam packed with meetings. One of my first stops was the Opening Ceremony showroom to check our the S/S 12 Suno collection.
The Opening Ceremony showroom is such an incredibly creative space. Upon walking in, your first impression is the reception room which has four pieces of furniture, all of which are completely covered in brightly colored corduroy. This corduroy encasing includes not only a couch but the desk and coffee table as well. From there on out you are hit with a visual overload of crisp clean space overflowing with racks of clothing. Each designer has its own space and the OC team is incredibly helpful and friendly.
We checked out a few rooms but we were primarily there for Suno. Stel’s has been carrying Suno for a while now and it’s been very popular among our customers. While it’s home base is in New York, Suno is known for working in India, Peru, and predominantly Kenya to help create jobs and opportunity for those living in less fortunate situations than us.
One of Suno’s strongest points is the tailoring and fit which are, without a doubt, impeccable. Combining this with colorful prints and a relaxed aesthetic, Suno has hit a powerful hybrid of luxury pieces with a down to earth attitude. It is Suno’s attention to detail, global awareness, and unique designs that sets it apart from the rest.

Resort 2012 – Suno
For Resort 2012, Suno kept to what they do best – beautiful, quirky prints. Set on an “arts and crafts” beachscape, the collection was full of relaxed fits and patterns that were reminiscent of vintage Hawaiian shirts. Mix up a Mai Tai and enjoy some of our favorite looks from the latest collection from Suno!
